Many people who go on holiday trips get so excited about their getaways that they often forget to attend to some basic concerns before they leave for their trip. Once you get on the plane and head to your holiday destination, the last thing you want is to spend your flight worrying about the things you needed to do but forgot to. Here are some last-minute reminders before going off on your holiday:

* Have your mail, newspaper and subscription delivered to a nearby relative or friend. You can also ask your neighbor to take care of it for you. A pile of mail in your front door is a clear sign that you are on vacation and might attract burglars.
* Photocopy your passport and other important travel documents. Put the copies in a separate bag from the original. During your trip, you can use the copies when traveling and leave behind the original documents safe in your hotel room.
* Secure your house before leaving. Make sure your home is protected from both intruders and accidents by making sure that all doors and windows are locked. Make sure that you switch off appliances as well and unplug them from electricity.
* To avoid experiencing lost luggage in the airport, mark your luggage with your name, home address and your destination.
